Another Great Reason for Copper Roofing

If you’re thinking of upgrading your home or building with a new copper roof, you may be pleased to know that there is yet one more good reason to go ahead with the plan. In addition to being beautiful, permanent, and ecologically responsible, you can now add disease prevention as an attribute of copper roofs! It’s been known for centuries that copper has anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties; in fact, it’s not uncommon to see a strip of copper installed across the length of ridge cap on roofs in some areas for the purpose of controlling algae growth on a roof. Now there are a number of studies attempting to quantify the usefulness of copper for a variety of infection deterrent applications. Makes you wonder if a copper roof isn’t the ideal way of preventing nasty bugs from bird droppings on a roof from finding their way into our gardens.

I had one client mention to me that he was considering a copper roof but thought the neighbors might think it a bit ostentatious. Now he can claim that he did it to make his garden a safer place for his grandchildren! Read an article on the subject – and make plans for that copper roof now! You can see all our beautiful profiles in this amazing material here.
